Give the power of an education.

Maheshwari was the first in her family to graduate high school in India. Today, she holds a master’s degree in genetics and works as a neuro-technologist—literally helping to save lives in her community of Chennai.

In honor of #GivingTuesday, you can champion her story and provide other girls with the same opportunity to pursue their dream.

Share on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, email, Slack... wherever you have an audience. Here are some sample posts to get you started!

3) Give & Get

On Facebook, invite others to rally behind girls like Maheshwari in India. When you share, tag She’s the First in your post, add the “Donate” button, and be the first to give.

Bonus: Starting at 8AM on Giving Tuesday (11/27), there will be a Facebook match up to $7 million!

On Giving Tuesday, you’ll support a group of STF Scholars at Mahesh’s alma mater in India, who call themselves Igniting Change. The 10th-12th grade scholars chose this name because, “we may be just a spark in the universe but a spark can lead to a wildfire of change.” As leaders in their community, they are dedicated to giving back themselves, by teaching younger STF Scholars about hygiene, health, and community.
